    Break Barriers is a family owned business. Founded and owned by Andrene-Lewis Longwe and Nelson Longwe.

  • 03 | How long ago was Break Barriers established?

    Break Barriers was established on the 18th of June 2010. That’s 10 years of breaking barriers to better quality of life for people who are less able to do so by themselves. We have done this with customers at their homes, outside their homes for recreational activities and abroad on holidays.

  • 07 | What are the shift patterns like?

    You are not employed to work with one particular customer, or group of customers, and it is a condition of your employment that you are prepared to work with any of our customers. This flexibility is essential to the smooth running of our business. Further details of shift patterns are provided at the induction stage for all employees.

  • 08 | I submitted an application form but have not heard back.

    We contact applicants when interview dates are confirmed. If you have not heard from us after 2 weeks, please get in touch with us via the ‘contact page’ by filling the enquiry form or send us an email or give us a call.

  • 09 | I have recently come to the UK and have no experience; can I still apply?

    Yes, you can, as long as you have the qualities we look for in our staff. Also, you must have a valid work permit to be able work with us as legally required.

  • 10 | I have a family member or relative or friend who would like to go on holiday abroad but is unable to due to a disability – who can I contact to ask about your support.

    With our holiday service, your family member’s/friend’s disability as a barrier is broken. We are here to do what we can to ensure that disabilities are no barriers to anyone who desires to live life to the fullest.   • 11 | I need transport to get around the community, but I have my own carers, do you provide Transport only service?

    Unfortunately, do not provide a transport only service.

  • 12 | Do you have any work experience opportunities available?
